Matterform

Matterform is a Ventura-based instrumental group working across acid jazz, funk, psychedelia, lo-fi, and fusion. Their self-titled debut draws on four years of performances throughout the Ventura and Santa Barbara music scenes.

The album moves from the hazy, Miles Davis-inspired single “Oxnardis” to the more charged-up “Toaster,” balancing exploratory arrangements with an insistent sense of groove.
